Herding Resources
Herding dogs have long been important in livestock industries throughout the world. Today there is also an increased interest in herding from those who are interested in preserving the skills and instincts of the herding breeds. Competitive herding trials are increasing and offered by several organized groups. The Idaho Herding Association is active in providing opportunities to expose herding dogs to herding events and opportunities.
Included in the events offered are herding seminars for the beginner to the advanced herder, as well as herding trials that include test and trial courses as well as authentic ranch course work. Also available are references to trainers and herding facilities where you can learn and practice on dog broke stock. This will give you the best opportunity to promote your dog's skills.
